Who am I?
My name is Annika Jansson and I am born and raised in Falkenberg, Sweden. I live in V�xj�, Sweden, where I study economics at the University. Right now I'm studying organization (in English) and musicology (just 'for fun').
Favorite things to do?
When I'm not studying, you will find me either singing or listening to music. You can listen to me singing at this page. I'm in two choirs at the moment, Camerata Vocale and Brygghusk�ren. Camerata Vocale is my Falkenberg-choir which I used to sing with when I'm visited my family in Falkenberg, and Brygghusk�ren is the student choir situated at the University of V�xj� and they practice every Monday. Unfortunately Camerata Vocale has put down their shields so if you want to hear them you should buy one of their CD:s, I recommend Absolute CV 11 and 12, but also the 'Greatest hits', Camerata Vocale 1965 - 2001. During 2001, they had a concert in Vinberg, just outside Falkenberg, one trip to Denmark (which was cancelled) and one to Netherlands so if you live near Eindhoven, try to listen to us during that trip.
Why this location?
I have always listened to music and, for some reason, I always end up listening to country music when I'm tired or sad. Even if I listen to other artists, like Offspring, Manic Street Preachers and Spice Girls, it's always nice to hear a song from Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill or one of the other great Country singers. (For those who didn't know, this page was originally called http://www.geocities.com/Nashville/Stage/9052.
If you want to know a secret, visiting the Grand Ole Opry (and perhaps singing there) is actually one of my dreams. The other one I come to later on the site.
Some other music interests?
As I mentioned before, I listen to a lot of music and a lot of music styles, but the one music event which has meant the most to me is Eurovision Song Contest. You could say that I didn't choose ESC but that ESC chose me. One of the first songs that I ever learned was "Ska vi plocka k�rsb�r i min tr�dg�rd" by Ann-Christine B�rnsten, a song that comes from the Swedish final 1975, the year I was born. I am a member of one Eurovision Club, OGAE Sweden, but I've been a member of Eurovision Club Switzerland and Eurofans Denmark, when the club was OGAE Denmark, which was before the Danish club was divided into two, and Eurovision Network .
The other big dream I have is actually the largest one. It's competing for Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest, but since I know that it's very hard coming so far, nowadays my dream has become smaller and it's singing on one of the demos sent in to the Swedish Television. (Actually I have to put the roof higher again because I wrote lyrics to a song which was sent to the Swedish final this year, but it didn't make it! =) but I'm trying my luck again, which means that I'm sending in songs for the final next year as well... and this time I might be singing on the demos.)
