First of all, I would like to thank Mogens, Vollan and Anders for making the weekend a reality!
I really had a great time and I think everyone else did as well, so thank you from the bottom
of my heart! :)
Well I didn't prepare at all for the weekend, I didn't even look which songs we were going to sing so I came there knowing that I had to learn some new songs. Actually I got the list from Mogens the tuesday before, but when I was able to read the document I couldn't open it :-( , that's why I didn't prepare that much for what was coming. Of course I took all the things I needed with me and a great attitude!
Thursday
When I came there weren't many people I recognised but soon I found some that I started talking to.
After that we started singing and went quickly over the songs that we were going to sing at the
concert 2 days later. We also sang a couple of other songs that Mogens wanted to be on the CD we
were doing that weekend. 4 hours later and I was both happy and tired.
Friday
We started one hour later, we had changed location (to Vinberg's church) and some more people joined
but other than that it was almost like the day before... We sang some more songs and we talked a lot.
Actually I took my bike there so I got a lot of exercise that day, but that only was good for me! ;-)
Saturday
The BIG day! We started at 10 and recorded songs for the CD. When we left at 13.15 we had done a lot...
but more was to come. At 15.15 we were back to have pictures taken for the CD and at 16 o'clock the
concert started. Apart from some small mistakes it went really well and some of the choir members
got really emotional during some of the songs, because they thought of the man that founded the choir.
(I didn't notice that during the concert, but some said that at the party.) When the concert was over
we had some time to change clothes and to refresh ourselves for the party which started at 19.30.
Even if it started at that time... we didn't start to eat until 20.30 and by that time everyone was
tired and hungry. When we ate we sang a lot and talked old memories... which wasn't many for me because
I joined the choir 1998. When we couldn't eat anything more, we watched pictures from the choir's history
and I think I only was on one picture, which was very good! ;-) After that, we danced and talked and
suddenly the clock was 5.30 and someone had the idea that we should eat breakfast there (there were some
leftovers). We left the location at around 6 and I got home at 6.30.
Sunday
A normal person would maybe not have joined the cleaning squad, which meant that I had to be there at 11
o'clock (and I took the keys so I had to be there at that time). The cleaning took about 2 hours and during
that time I had a small injury when we took away the tables... but it looked worse than it was. When I
left everything was almost done, but on the way home I met some that was going there... better late than
never! ;-)
A quite normal Camerata Vocale weekend I should say... and I really look forward to the trip to Veldhoven next fall! :-) If you want to know more about Camerata Vocale, follow the link below!
