| Test Taking Tips | ||||||
| * Be well rested. * Eat your usual breakfast. Hunger can detract from a good test performance. * Listen carefully to all test-taking instructions given by the teacher, and ask for clarification about anything that is unclear. * Do your best. * Be equipped. Have pencils and other items needed for the test. * Don't cram. * Dress in layers for varying room temperatures. * Keep track of where you are on the test. * Guess aggressively if you do not know the answer. Eliminate the wrong answers, then guess. * Be careful when filling in answer grids. * Relax - attitude and outlook are crucial to test-day performance. Be confident. * Be comfortable, but alert. Have enough room to work and good posture in your seat. * Answer the easy questions first. * Look for clues within the question. * Think before responding to essay questions, and get right to the point. * To manage stress, practice deep breathing, move your body, visualize relaxed situations, find an easy question, take a mental break. |
