4 cups flour
1/2 cup salad oil
1 lb. cod fish ~ crumbled
1 3/4 cups warm water
1 tbsp. pepper
1 pinch salt
2 pkgs. yeast
Mix together all ingredients and allow to rise in bowl that has been placed in a warm area with a dish towel over it. This should take approximately one hour.
Heat oil in a deep fryer and test to see when the oil is hot enough by dropping a little batter into the pan. When the oil is hot enough, drop batter into oil using a large serving spoon. Fry on both sides until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
