Miss a Feature? Click to visit the JanOnJosh Archives! |
Hi guys! Can you believe the year 2000 is almost over and that the holidays are just around the corner? Unbelievable! Well, they DO say time flies when youre havin fun, and this year has DEFINITELY been fun if you are a Josh Duhamel fan! You may remember in the first official "JanOnJosh" feature posted here a few weeks ago, I mentioned a birthday/anniversary book I created for Josh to present to him at Super Soap Weekend, inside which were numerous greetings and well-wishes for Josh emailed to me from fans all over the country. Well, to those of you who sent greetings, Josh says THANKS in a really big way! Scroll below to read his THANK YOU to EACH OF YOU for your continuing support and dedication! This guyloves his fans! |
As we all know by now, November marked the official one-year anniversary of Joshs debut as "Leo du Pres" on All My Children. The past year has been a series of wacky wisecracks, devilish smirks, snazzy one-liners, dramatic scenes, and of course, lets not forget the leather pants (hehe), all of which keep us glued to the tube and waiting impatiently for more! What exactly is it about "Leo du Pres" that intrigues us? When Leo first made his entrance into Pine Valley, we were supposed to believe he was bad! But arent the bad characters always more interesting? What was it Leo announced when he first arrived in town? "Im a study in glib." Truer words were never spoken! We were wowed by Leos devil-may-care attitude and supposed arrogance, yet intrigued to find out who he really was behind all that continental charm. The character of Leo has been written with lots of layers to him, and Im sure youll agree with me when I say I dont think All My Children casting could have picked a better person to play the part than our guy Josh. Through all the emotions --joy, sadness, ecstasy(!), alarm, rage, panic, suffering, hopelessness, jealousy (and the list goes on) --Josh has portrayed Leo in such a way for us, the fans, to feel as though they can relate to many of the things Leo has gone through in his life. |
Leos current storyline on All My Children centers around three women (go figure!): Bianca Montgomery (Eden Riegel), Greenlee Smythe (Rebecca Budig), and Laura Kirk English (Laura Allen). Bianca, who we all know now is gay, has a slight crush on Laura, who is not gay and has a teensy weensy crush on Leo. Enter Greenlee into the mix, (shes always lurking and scheming!) whos sun rises and sets on one Leo du Pres. Vixen Greenlee knew that Laura wasnt just being nice to Leo because she wanted to take his photograph, so she pulled a big stunt at the Incredible Dreams.com party by pushing Laura overboard on the yacht--not knowing that Laura couldnt swim (and not caring!) Ive gotten quite a few strong comments via email this week about Greenlee and her "win at all risks" behavior. Is she moving in too fast on Leo, despite the fact hes admitted he loves her? Do our guy Leo and her even belong together? |
Heres what some of you had to say:"In the next couple of weeks I really hope that Leo and Greenlee spend the Christmas holidays together, and totally commit to one another it might even be interesting to see another guy pop into Greenlees life And now that Leo loves her, who knows what he would do." -Marianna Paglia"Leo needs to kick Greenlee to the curb he continually gives, she continually takes (which is true to her character) but enough is enough. Id like to see him go solo for a minute or two he doesnt need to be tied at the hip (or shoulders, as it were) with every available female on the show!" -Nancy K. "I DO NOT think that Leo should kick Greenlee to the curb. I think they are great, and that the writers need to get these two back to where they were before when they were both schemers and kind of bad. If Leo should kick anyone to the curb, it should be Bianca and Laura." -BeckyFrom the Josh Duhamel Discussion Board:"Leo needs a real storyline. Josh is too good to be wasted as Greenlees boytoy and Biancas big brother. They [the writers] need to give him something that uses Vanessa and David, too. Leo and Greenlee put me to sleep because it is so much like didnt we just see that the last time they were together? They seem more like a couple of pals than red hot lovers." Katte |
So as you can see, there are certainly a lot of opinions on whether or not Leo should or should not stick around with the conniving Greenlee! Weve got the Crystal Ball coming up, and we all know that so many interesting things end up happening there that end up shaping the lives of so many Pine Valley citizens for months to come! So the final verdict on Leo and Greenlee? Youll have to stay tuned to All My Children to find out! And if you have an opinion on whats going on on the show, write to All My Children Studios, care of ABC! You, as a fan, have a voice! USE IT!Once again, my name is Janny and this has been my .02. Now how about you?Bye for now!JannyTune in in two weeks for the "Josh Duhamel Fans Christmas Wish List" compiled by, who else, YOU! Please email me with your input at [email protected]. Id LOVE to hear from you! |

A Personal Thanks to All of You fromJOSH! |
Note from Janny: Recently I had the privilege of meeting Josh at Super Soap Weekend in Orlando, FL and had the opportunity to present a booklet of well wishes from fans all across the country who wanted to say "Happy Birthday and one year AMC Anniversary" to Josh! Here are his responses to those of you who emailed me greetings for him! |
| April Maceyak, how the hell do you pronounce this name?! It's more difficult than Duhamel! I think I'll just call you April. Sorry about the picture, hopefully we'll meet again. I'll fix my hair next time. | Nancy Kempf, I love your spunk! By the way my back is still sore from that monstrous bear hug! Thanks a lot. And I always welcome "smart-a**" comments and "artsy farsty" tributes, so why don't you "throw me a bone"? Say hello to Sac-town for me. |
| Wendy H, hopefully I'll get to Houston and hopefully it will be this winter. This long distance thing you and I have going is getting annoying. Thanks for the B-day greeting! | Take care, Lindsey in Delaware, I'm glad you think I'm funny and not just funny looking. I'll tell Rebecca you said hello. Merry Christmas. |
| Brandy "Sadiekat" McKinney, thank you for the happy b-day song, you have a great voice. You mentioned that you hope this was my best birthday ever. Well, I actually sat home and did nothing. I partied the night before. So, it may not have been my best "birthday" ever, but it has been the best year of my life. Thank you again | Kaz, sorry if we made fools of ourselves at Rascals. We maybe had a little too much of Grampa's cough medicine, if you know what I'm saying. Thanks for the birthday greeting and don't bite your nails. It's not sanitary. |
| Robyn, I actually wore the NDSU shirt home from the event at Planet Hollywood. I love it! Thank you so much. If you see my dad in Fargo, tell him I'm gonna kick his a** in golf this spring. Thank you for the b-day greeting, take care and for God sakes, stay warm. | Michelle Kimenker, of course I remember you, you silly rabbit. Seattle was my favorite city on the whole Planet Hollywood tour. Thank you for such a nice b-day greeting, you're a sweetheart. Take care. |
| Keria Hardy, how's the weather over in NYC? I'm freezin' my butt off in the upper West Side. Thank you for the b-day letter. | Anita Lyfe, I love the name. How funny. Glad that I can make you smile, that's why I do what I do. Take care of yourself. |
| RaisinKane and BabyKane, what a thoughtful letter! It's people like you that I was scared to death of and I am so happy that you accepted Leo. I know that he's gotten a little soft lately, but with much persistence I think I've persuaded them to take him back to the dark side. Like you, I can't wait to get to the "Leo's father storyline." All I know right now is that they're really taking their time because they want to do it right. Thanks again for the awesome letter and have a Merry Christmas. | Tara Trongone, Don't let school get in the way of watching AMC. Just skip, Leo would. I'm glad Greenlee and I could get you hooked, but don't skip school, I was just kidding. I hope everything going on in your life is good. If not, everything will work itself out. Hang in there. "I love ya, well I don't really love ya, but you get the point." Sound familiar? I thought that was very funny. Take care. |
| Jessica Dratler, another sweet letter. Thank you so much. I'll play second fiddle to Joshua Jackson any day. I agree with you that he is a great actor. As good as anyone his age. Keep watching and have a great Christmas. | Mare Ferrara, is that your real name? You sound like a movie star. Thank you for the nice birthday wishes. I wish you many more happy years with health happiness and love as well. Take care of yourself. |
| Pam,it's fans like you that keep us on the air. Thanks for watching all these years and I'll try (not) to be a good boy! | Melissa Selacek, Thank you for the nice b-day greeting, but where the hell is my present!? Take care and have a great Christmas |
| Stef with an F, I always say that anyone who builds me a website is a friend of mine. I don't think that's too much to ask of my friends, do you? Thank you so much for your support and thank you for the picture. You have a beautiful daughter. | Nancy Rosenberg, I'm older than you are, I'm older than you are, ha ha ha ha ha ha. Tell your co-workers hello and that I do dry clean my leather pants every now and then. Thank you for the birthday greeting. |
| My little Leoettes, Lorna and Natalie, I used to live in Sonoma county! Rohnert Park! I worked construction at the wineries. What a beautiful place. I want to live there again someday. Thank you for the great letter. If you run into Hank Week, tell him I called him an a**hole, excuse my French, but he'll understand. We're good friends. Take care. | Veronica, don't do anything you wouldn't do? What exactly would you do and can I have your phone number? I heard about you girls from Dallas. I think I'm gonna move there. Thank you for the nice message and I'm not leaving anytime soon. Take care. |
| Suzette Warnecke, Go Vikings! I gave Cam the pictures and he says thank you. And thank you for the b-day greeting. | Sandy, I'm glad I could keep you aboard. And yes, I will be there for at least another two years. Stay in school, don't do drugs, be good to your mother and all that. Take care. |
| Sarah, sorry, but the role of #1 fan is already taken by my mother. You can be #6 ok? Other family members are right behind her. You should still feel lucky though, because you just moved in front of my girlfriend. Thank you for the nice letter. Take care and have a Merry Christmas.. | Leigha, I definitely was a pleasure to meet you. You couldn't have picked a nicer person to be a fan of. Marj is a wonderful lady and am I ever glad she's my TV mommy dearest. Take care and have a great Christmas. |
| Kathy, if Leo is the only reason you watch, then that's fine by me. Thank you for the nice letter. | Lesley Potter, are you by chance Harry's mom? Just kidding, I know, I know, it's a horrible attempt at humor. Anyway, thank you for the heartfelt letter. Very sweet and let's hope Leo has another mischievous year. |
| OK, my fingers are sore now. I haven't typed this much since typing class my sophomore year in high school. I just want to thank you all again for all of your love and support. It doesn't fall on deaf ears. I know that I can be a little slow in responding to some of your letters, but I want you to know that I read everything and appreciate you all so much. I wish you all a Merry Christmas. Over and out." --Josh |
