A Critique of Ang Dating Daan

by F. Mascariņa

Introduction

I have never rolled my eyes at such childish, anti-Catholic, illogical, un-factual, highly subjective writing as when I was reading these ADD articles. Alright, actually it is a tie between the INC and ADD as to who is the most ignorant anti-Catholic organization.

By the way, have you read the article "Conversational Terrorism"? You should read it before continuing; it's got "A.D.D." written all over it, not to mention "I.N.C."

As to the way these ADD "debate" I think it's all about machismo-- what in the world are they shouting for? It seems that they pride themselves so much in being able to shout (not debate; they don't know how to debate) that humility, objectivity, and-- good heavens!-- common sense are thrown out. Are these really debates or a three-ring circus? I really can't tell because of all these clowns!

I could have been out with my friends, just "chillin'", but I knew I had to finish this section of the Ad_Rem website. I feel as if I've half-wasted my time correcting the supposedly "thorough research" of the ADD; there's just no thrill in it, having seen these "arguments" before. But maybe-- who knows?-- someone might find my work useful.

The following articles are a critique of the trash on the ADD website. Jesus-Mary-Joseph, my skills could be used elsewhere. But, alas! One man's trash is another man's treasure, and some have made a treasure of this trash! They have not been given a correct explanation of Catholic doctrine so it's no wonder they'll believe everything Soriano says. Ah, but that will change. That will change.

<-- Wow! Does not Soriano see that this Kingdom is the Catholic Church? The original article almost sounded like something a Catholic wrote! I guess I'll let this article pass; it's not too much of a nuisance. Soriano is close to finding out that there are four distinct marks which distinguish Christ's Church (i.e. the Catholic Church) from imposters.

Salvation<-- I maintain that "the Church" which Soriano rightly says is key to our salvation, is the Catholic Church. Otherwise I think there's not much need to write a critique of the Salvation article.

Deposit<-- I'll let this article slide; it's fine.

Food<-- This article is fine.

Fasting<-- Okay, this one is fine too.

Prayer<-- This article has incomplete advice but for safety's sake read again the response Prayer (Part I and Part II)

The Giving of Alms<-- This one's okay; I won't bother to critique it.

Understanding the Bible

The Warning<-- It was good of him to warn his fellow ADD.

The different issues concerning faith<-- Good enough; I'll leave it alone.
