Earl and Doc
born April 24, 2002
Living with us since May 27, 2002
Earl and Doc were born to a rescue rat Momma.  Poor girl probably didn't even want babies.  Nonetheless, they were born, and we're lucky to have them, for they're sweet and curious little guys.

They look almost identical (head on), except for their tail markings, and of course, behaviour.  Already quite comfortable with us big human creatures, Earl ("the ear lover") LOVES sniffing in our ears, and biting them, and of course licking them.  Doc ("the dentist") loves going straight for the mouth and won't take no for an answer.  He  might only be little, but those claws are already full grown, and I have scratched lips to prove it. :)

If you want to adopt a rescue rat (let) and live in B.C., Canada, I encourage you to contact Roberta at
Home Finders.  She has an amazing zoo of animals needing loving homes, like these guys.
May 27, 2002.  Welcome home little fellas!
Ratlets + soft new grass = hours of entertainment (and dirty paws!!)
"My what a big mouth you have!"

I'm seriously worried what he's going to do when he's full grown.... ;)
One of the boys tries to make an escape.  (aged 2 months)
Growing up... photos from Summer 2002
As you can see, the little boys (now becoming quite big boys) are growing up to be adorable adults. :)
With a cute face like that, they get everything they want!!!
Let me out!!!  I want to play!!!
Plotting mischief of some sort... one of those times that you wish you could read their minds!!!
Snack time
Oh, it's so hard being a rat!!!
Oh my gosh, it's a 6 eared rat! :)
When you gotta scratch, you gotta scratch!
Would you like to visit the other rats now?
