Apple Crisp
Ingredients:
1/2 cup flour 1 cup rolled oats 2/3 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup melted margarine 5 - 6 medium apples, about 5 cups sliced 1/4 cup water 1/8 tsp each of ground nutmeg and cinnamon
Instructions:
Stir together the flour, oats and brown sugar and butter until all the dry ingredients are moistened and the mixture is crumbly. Peel and slice the apples and put them into an 8 x 8 baking dish. Stir in the water, nutmeg and cinnamon. Pour the crumbs over the top, spreading them right to the edges of the pan - this helps to keep in the heat and cook the apples. Bake at 350 F for about 35 minutes until the top is gold and the apples are tender. Makes 4 - 5 servings.
