Blocks of quality sandstone were ordered from a quarry in the Horice region (well known for the best sandstone in the Czech Republic) and delivered to the Sculptor's studio in Karlovy Vary.
The block stone (the future pedestal of the St. Ludmila sculptural group) is extracted from the quarry face by drilling and fracturing stone.

It will be on the Sculptor to "find" the statue of St. Ludmila in this block stone.
