This site is a web site that talks about different Internet terms
and offers a fun quiz at the end. The activities are geared for
children to walk themselves through the activities to learn more
about the Internet. As a special bonus, there are teaching aides
for elementary school teachers provided at the bottom of the page.
Keep in mind that this is a UK based web site, so watch out for
the different ways to spell in the English language.

This site is a web site where kids can post their writing from school
or from home. There are collaborative writing projects and book
reviews posted by kids. This is a UK based web site.
Keypals
Club
This site is a place for students and teachers to sign up to have
an electronic pen pal. Classes can contact classes through the teacher's
e-mail account or individual students can contact each other. Many
different countries are represented.
Electronic
Emissary Project
This site is based out of the University of Texas, Austin. This
project helps students and teachers link to mentors in different
content areas for educational research directly with an expert.

Internet Resources
This site is provided by Classroom Connect and has links to other
articles of interest.
What
is MLA Style?
This site is an article put together by the Modern Language Association.
It has a link to the online version of the MLA style guide for high
school students.
Project Gutenberg
This site provides online versions of books. Connect to the site
for more information on this ongoing project. These books are not
in copyright anymore, so not all books can be found on this web
site. But if the library does not have some of these titles, this
could be another way to have students read them.

Word A Day
This site provides a different word for each day with the definition.
There is usually a sentence using the word.

Network's FREE Online Grade Book
This site allows teachers and students to log into the grade book
program from any Internet connection with a web browser. Students
can be given individual passwords and logon ids to look up their
current grades and missing assignments. There will be fewer students
asking for grade printouts!

Network's Fun Brain Web Site
This site provides FREE online quizzes/quiz creation, as well as
educational games to help motivate students to want to learn. This
site is targeted towards younger students and their parents, but
there are also some good resources for older students as well.
