The
Smileys and Acronyms Dictionary
This site lists many of those sideways smiley faces :-) people use
in online communication. This is not just something cute. This is
part of the online culture and helps people communicate in the text-based
world of e-mail and chat. Think of the smileys as the facial expressions
we all use to communicate face to face. Don't forget to have fun.

Connected
University
This site is an online university for educators. The students at
this school are teachers, librarians, administrators and other school
district employees from all over the US and a few other countries.
Courses are conducted online with online reading assignments and
places for posting assignments. Students respond to each other for
discussion questions, which allows for students to learn from each
other. Unless this is supported by the school district, there is
a fee of $349 to take as many classes as desired for one year. Guide-led
classes are three to six weeks long. There are short sessions that
can be done at your own pace without a Guide as well. Continuing
Education Credit may be earned from various universities through
Connected University for an additional fee.
(example courses: Message Board Basics, Reading and Language Arts
Online, Best Calculations - Success with 3-5 math Standards, Virtual
Fieldtrips: Exploring the World Without Leaving the Classroom)
