Bargain Basement

The woodware found on this page have all been handcrafted using the wood lathe. Some time between the actual turning of the piece, or during the drying time, chips, checks, minor splits, or cracks formed. Some people believe this just adds to the uniqueness of the piece. Here at Janinda Hill we want our customers to be completely satisfied with our woodware and we will price our pieces according to what we consider to be the actual beauty of the piece. Although many of these pieces are still quite stunning, we feel they fell slightly short, of our high standards.

This Cherry bowl stands just over 2" tall. The diameter is almost 6 1/2" and the bowl is 1 1/2" deep. There is a divot in the center of the bottom of the bowl, and some minor checks on the rim. These defects can be seen in the last picture. The bowl does have some really pretty grain markings and could have been a really fine piece.

This sweet little Maple cup stands just 4" tall. The top diameter is just over 3" and the depth is 2 3/4". It has been finished both inside and out with raw linseed oil. Very pretty grain markings but unfortunately it got a small "v" shaped chip in the rim, while it was being turned (see 2nd photo). A very cute piece just the same, and it awaits a small bouquet of silk flowers of your choice.
