R. Kenshin's Review Page
Trigun
Description - Trigun is humour/action anime about Vash the Stampede, a huge outlaw with a 60-Billion Double-Dollar bounty on his head.  In the beginning of the anime, you get the impression that Vash is a hilarious, stupid, perverted, sensitive wierdo, but by the end......you still get that impression.  However, throughout this 26-episode series, you find out the history of this legendary outlaw, as well as a much bigger plot indeed (sorry, don't wanna spoil it for ya!).

My Opinion -
Trigun is an excellent anime with a good plot and very well written japanese humor (is that possible?). Although you spend about the first 10 episodes just watchin Vash's antics, it's well worth it by the end.

The Grade: I give Trigun an "A"
Rurouni Kenshin
Description - Keshin, a personal favorite, is a nice long series of 96+ episodes.  Although even I haven't seen all of them, from what I have seen, it is about a boy named Kenshin who mysteriously shows up in a Japanese town and helps a girl defend her dead father's dojo* from a man claiming to be Battasou, a legendary swordsman from a past war.  Kenshin, who in the 2nd episode ends up being Battasou, is a master samurai with umbeatable speed and wits.  However, he is also alot like Vash the Stampede**.  Anyway, he and the girl fall in love, but many many other things happen in the serious, including the girls kidnap***.  Kenshin does alot more fighting, but from what I've seen, that's about it.  However, there are rumors about some ULTIMATELY good ending, but, those are just rumors.....

* = A martial arts/swordfighting school in Japan
** = See "Trigun" review
*** = GAS
P!!!!
My Opinion - Rurouni Kenshin is an AWESOME action anime and a pretty good comedy too.  Although it seems the series is pretty long, from what I've seen, it isn't boring at all.  The drama is, well, cheesy, but hey, you can't have everything!!!

The Grade: I give Rurouni Kenshin an "A-"
Lodoss War
Description - Lodoss War is a medievel anime about a band of adventurers who venture forth to save the Island of Lodoss from the evil Emperor Beld of Marmo and his assitants Wagnard and Ashram.  This band of do-gooders, led by Parn, the free knight, include a battle-worn dwarf fighter, an elven shamaness, a human priest, and other mythical heroes.  Many large battles are fought, including the War of Heroes, a clash of the forces of Light and the forces of darkness.  Even the elf gets a one-on-one swordfight against her rival, the dark elf sorceress.

My Opinion -
Altough the idea behing Lodoss War is pretty lame, the actual series is pretty good.  The animation is fantastic, and the fight scenes are choriographed pretty dang well.  The part I had the trouble with was how predictable the outcome is, but that is easily cancelled out by how excellently made it is.

The Grade:
I give Lodoss War a "B"
Gundam Wing
Description - Gundam Wing is the "ever-so-popular" Gundam series that appeared on and on on Cartoon Network about two years ago.  This mecha* anime is about five kids (all boys around thirteen years old) who are sent to earth from space stations called colonies to destroy the oppressive government there.  These kids are expert pilots with their mechas (called Gundams), which they use to destroy the outlying army encampments of the gov.  However, as the story goes on and more characters/gundams are introduced, the plot becomes much more complex (the main char. tries to shoot his girlfriend, one of the char, gets hold if the all-powerful gundam, etc.)

My Opinion -
Although it is pretty well liked by many people, as an experienced anime veteran (*cough, cough*), I don't think it's at all the best out there.  In fact, I find it to be very stupid at times, although the action is good.  A very girlish anime.

The Grade
: I give Gundam Wing a "B-"

*Mecha = Large, giant robot or robot-type object that is manned by a human/humanoid.  Usually is much larger than the average person.
Note: Gundams do not look like the one above (much less cutsy then this).  Refer to pics right of this one for actual size.
Naruto
Description - Naruto is an anime based in an "imperialistic Japan"-type area.  However, instead of samurai, ninjas roam the land.  The anime is based in one town in particualar, a town of ninjas that was once attacked by a nine-tailed demon fox.  However, the demon fox was trapped in a boy, Naruto (the protaganist of our series).  The best thing about this anime, though, is that it's very unconventional.  Instead of being the best ninja ever, Naruto is the worst!  This comedy will have you crying out streams of tears from laughing so hard..)

My Opinion -
I think this anime iss fantastic!  The humor is, well, extremely hilarious, and the action has you gripping the edge of your seat!  Definetely one of my top anime choices.  The only one bad thing is that there's a bit too much dialogue between action scenes, but it's bareable.

The Grade
: I give Naruto an A-.
Naruto's teacher (seems lazy, but you'll be suprised....)
Naruto at the Ninja Academy.
Naruto executing a ninja technique.
Excel Saga
Description - A comedy about a girl (Excel) who, immediately after graduating high school/college (not sure which one), signs up for an evil organization called A.C.R.O.S.S.  The head of this organization, Ilparrozo, has very...well, strange, plans for taking over the world - assasinating manga writers, building random buildings in the middle of cities, etc., etc.  Some other hilarious characters come into play, such as Nabashin, a mysterious, yet strange man who is always the center of some side action/drama story, and Menchi, a dog who Excel plans on eating.

My Opinion -
Pretty good anime.  Very funny, but a little too random sometimes.  Also, alot of jokes that aren't understandable in English.  However, definitely worth your time (if you've already watched Naruto, Trigun, and Rurouni Kenshin, that is).

The Grad
e: I give Excel Saga a B.
Excel on an mission to assasinate a Manga Writer
Excel with Menchi
Excel attempting to eat Menchi (Poor dog....)
