I HOPE JOHN (ESTRADA) COULD still remember the times when he would call just to curse me and tell me Mukha kang pera. It happened so many times. I didnt react. I just let him scream. How come all of a sudden, ang bait-bait nya (he is so nice)?

An infuriated Janice de Belen spoke with Inquirer Entertainment a day after her former husband appeared on television to comment on a court notice ordering John to pay over P800,000 in child support.

Janice and Johns 10-year marriage was annulled in 2001. They have four childrenInah, Moira, Kyla and Yuan.
In an interview on Sunday with ABS-CBNs show biz talk show, The Buzz, John admitted that he sometimes failed to send money for the childrens expenses. I dont always have enough money, he explained. But I never forget my obligations as a father. My children can attest to that.

John added that he would even spend for Iggy Boy, Janices son with actor Aga Muhlach.

good a father he is, gawin na lang nya (he just has to do it). He signed an agreement. He should comply, the actress said.

In a compromise agreement, which Janice and John signed on Jan. 20, 2003, the actor agreed to provide P50,000 every month for their childrens expenses. He is also liable for the childrens educational, medical and dental expenses.

On Oct. 12, the Pasig City Regional Trial Court issued an alias writ of execution for Sheriff IV Jose Santos to collect from John the amount of P830,051.93, which he failed to provide from September 2004 to May 2005.

Inquirer Entertainment obtained from Janices lawyer, Raymond Fortun, copies of the alias writ of execution, notice of garnishment and court order signed by Judge Agnes Reyes-Carpio, which were sent to John.

I dont want to engage in a word war with John, Janice said. I never used the word irresponsible to describe him. I simply said part of being a good father is providing for his children.

The actress added: Im fighting for my childrens sake. If he were in my shoes, Im sure hed do the same thing.

On The Buzz, John said that instead of making their problem public, Janice should have just called him and they could have settled it privately.

I have nothing to say to him, Janice shot back. Court documents are public documents. People asked me about them, I simply answered.

Janice claims that her ex-husband earns more than she does. Between him and myself, I live a very laid-back lifestyle, she said. I also dont walk around wearing designer clothes. I dont own any jewelry.

She added: Im doing my part by working hard for our children; he should do the same. In fact, kahit mahirap (although its hard), I agreed to join Extra Challenge because I needed to earn. I also got into retail (tiangge) business. These things take a lot of my time, which I should be spending with my kids. He should be happy, I am not a neglectful mom.
