More weightloss tips...
My new routine for the last 6 months has been to take the insulite system product and I cut all my normal meal portions in half! I also skip lunch. I know I know we should not skip meals but since I am unable to exercise due to my disability, I can barely walk, I need lower calories. Besides, with my wellbutrin and insulite my appetite is greatly reduced. I prefer to eat only when I am really hungry. I also drink water water water and I take wellbutrin which helps me stay human lol. I had to break a lot of eating habits some of which I learned in childhood.
1. The "clean your plate rule". You know I finally learned I do not "have" to eat every morsel of food.
2. Use smaller plates. That means less food to fit on the plate and that my friends is a good thing.
3. Turn off the TV. I realized the TV triggers much of my eating. After all, the TV bombards us with food ads. No wonder we feel hungry all the time.
I also associate certain foods with certain TV shows. At night when I watch Everybody Loves Raymond I tend to want to snack as I watch the show and it's no wonder. They eat constantly and discuss food in each episode. Really if I ate like they did on the show I would be so overweight I would need to be hospitalized. Why aren't they all overweight anyway???
4. I looked at what I normally ate and I cut it in half. Instead of my normal two burgers I now eat one burger with lots of water.
5. I avoid artificial sweeteners as much as possible. Taking that out, my cravings were greatly reduced.
6. I try to add more fiber, more veggies and more fruit.
7. I realized dessert is not a requirment with a meal. Yes, a meal can be complete with no dessert.
8. Do not weigh everyday. It will just put you on a emotional roller coaster.
9. Becareful how you shop, if you don't buy it then you can't eat it. Don't tempt yourself. Don't buy that cake for your hubby and the kids you know you will be eating it too. NO MORE MIND GAMES! NO PROMISES TO YOURSELF AND NO DEALS!
10. Rewards do not have to always be food! As a kids, when I was good for a doctor appointment or had a good report card I was taken to a fast food place and I could order whatever I wanted. REWARD yourself in a "food free" way. Lost a pound? Have hubby watch the kids while you do something you really like! Read a book or light some candles and take a long soak in a hot tub. Or take the kids to the park and play with them.
11. Stop thinking about food all the time. Some people plan what they will eat that day and the rest of the week. Try to focus on other things.
Okay what all that means is eat less and try to eat healthier. That's it for now. I am outta here...
