When to go...
September!!
September was a great time for travel, for all of the following reasons.
- One: It is a good rule of thumb if visiting the North to do it at the end of
their season (summer). Because by the end of the long summer days are kinder to visitors
than shorter, less predictable spring days.
- Two:
The flowers, both annuals and perinnieals, are all grossly developed in a way our
Southern sun cannot duplicate (the long growing day).
- Three:
The tourist season is no longer considered "peak".
- Four:
The weather still holds up, as mostly dry and warm days and crisp nights.
- Five:
The
"Heritage Days" sponsored free admissions to all of their venues throughout Great Britain
for the weekend days of the month of September (write for details) which includes
museums, castles, and other private and public attractions.
