Sensei  Ed  Loomis a Middle School Educator, Licensed  Paramedic and   former   Texas    Corrections Officer,  has  studied  martial  arts for   over    forty years.

While   in    the    Air    Force       he studied   various     martial       arts including  Tang  Soo Do,  Kuk Sool Won,  and   Judo.    In  1990 Sensei Loomis  was transferred    to  Dyess AFB   Texas.   While    stationed   in Abilene   Texas,   he     began      his studies   in  Aikido      under    Soke Amos Hunter.

During   this   time   Sensei Loomis was   awarded     his   1st   Dan     in Aikido.   In    March 2001 he received    his   Yondan   (4th   Dan) in     Aiki-Jujutsu      and           was awarded   his   Menkyo  Okuden  in Ryo-shi   Ryu    Bujutsu.   In   September 2007   Sensei Loomis  received   his 3rd Black  in  Goju-Shorei Weapon Systems.  In 2005 he earned his 3rd Dan in Aikido.

Sensei Loomis is a two times inductee into the United States Martial Artists Hall of Fame
In March 2003 he  earned his 2nd Dan  in  Judo. He is a  lifetime   member of Combat Martial Art Practitioner Association, and a lifetime member of     The  World  Combat  Martial Artists Association. He's a former member of the International Aikido Association and   the United States Classical Judo Society.
Sensei Loomis   is   one  of  the founding    members      of      the American    Society   of   Combat Martial Artists.

Sensei Loomis   is the  Director     of Aiki-Jujutsu and Judo  for the  American Society of Combat Martial Artists.

Sensei Loomis is currently the National Director for Member Services for the American Society of Combat Martial Artists.

Sensei Loomis is   Texas's first  Goju Shorie  Weapons System Black Belt   Instructor   and   one   of   only  a  handful of Goju Shroei Cane Instructors   in  the  state.  Sensei Loomis is currently teaching weapons (
ModernArnis and Goju Shorei Weapon System) at Sensei Cliff Derdeyn dojo located at:

Classes are held on Saturday  from Noon -1:30 PM  He also teaches private lessons at his home dojo by appointment only. His students include Texas Peace Offices, Swat team members, paramedics, school teachers as well as students of all ages

He is actively   involved    in    community    services,   teaching State and   Regulatory   Agencies,  women   self   defense    and situational awareness  for   local  civic   groups, churches and  other organizations, Sensei Loomis   teaches   self  defense   to  senior   citizens  using  the Goju-Shorei Cane System.    For  upcoming  self  defense  seminars  by Sensei Loomis
