| 1995 ESQ Challenge - Under the Sea |
| Size 17-1/2" square - We were given a piece of Alexander Henry Under the Sea fabric and asked to make a block no larger than 18". I chose to make a Mariner's Compass block, surrounded by a Storm at Sea border. Those who wished could then use their block as the start of a Round Robin quilt, with other guild members adding borders. | |
 | The first person in my round robin group added the appliqud beige border with anchors and flags, keeping the nautical theme, plus the turquoise and gold straight borders. Next was a border with triangles; then a border with squares - more storm at sea! Finally, the quilt was returned to me and I added the outer tan/turquoise border with seashell appliqus. This is still a top, since I think it wants to be a bed-size quilt. |
