| Size 24"x40" - The NYQuilts! 2001 show was fast approaching and I didn't have anything to enter. While in a fabric store I saw a delightful landscape pattern (by designer Bonnie Kaster) for an autumn view of a mid-woods stream with dam and immediately pictured places we have seen while orienteering. I thought Glen would like to have his very own quilt, and I wanted something that would not take long to complete. Because I only had about 7 weeks, I machine-appliqu�d and machine-quilted just about everything, but added a few little hand-quilted details. The top was completed in time for Glen's birthday, and everything else was finished in time for the show...and it won a 2nd place ribbon! There's the ghost of an old mill hand-quilted into the foliage on the right side of the quilt (not visible in this picture). |  |
