| Why Massage? | |||||||||||
| The Physical and Psychological benefits have been recognised and valued for thousands of years. Today massage is used to relax the body and mind and relieve the stresses and strains of everyday life. Studies show that massage enhances our immune function and lowers the level of our stress hormones. The benefits are extensive and begin with its influence on the muscular tissues of the body. Skilled manipulation of the muscles assists the circulation of the blood and lymphatic fluid, helping to drain away wastes. If a waste called Lactic Acid is allowed to accumulate in the muscles, it prevents the fibres from sliding easily over each other, causing muscular tension, tightness and poor flexibility. Therapeutic Swedish Massage is defined as the manipulation of soft tissues for therapeutic purposes. The therapist generally uses only their hands and digits to work mainly on the superficial muscles of the body, which Calms the Nervous System - to Relax the body and Release from Tension, Encourages Effective Elimination of Toxins, Improves the body's Circulation and Immune Systems, Tones the Muscles and Increases Joint Mobility . It can be a relaxing or invigorating treatment, depending on a client's individual requirements. For those clients with long standing back pain or tight inflexible limbs, the use of the therapist's Elbows, Forearms, Fists and Knuckles can also be used to Stimulate the Deeper Muscles of the body to help Release Repetitive Tension and Unlock Restricted Joints. Treatments available include: 1) Whole Body Treatment; which includes Face, Neck, Shoulders, Arms, Back, Legs and Feet. (60 minutes is needed for this treatment). 2) Half Body Treatment; which usually includes Neck, Shoulders and Back. However you may choose up to 3 different body parts from treatment 1 if you would prefer. 3) Leg Reviver; which is excellent for reviving tired or achy legs, while also helping to break down cellulite. Treatments are available in time slots of 30, 45 and 60 minutes. Cold pressed Sunflower oil is generally used for all treatments. Massage is an Excellent Preventative and Feels Great Too ! |
