    - Doesn't Really Matter has slipped one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, coming in this week at #8.
Also, the single has fallen out of the top 20 on the R&B Singles chart.

    - There have been a lot of rumors going around as to when Janet's new album will be released. I was browsing through the forums at the JANET Talk message board and I found this interesting post. Beware, it could be completely false so take it with a grain of salt:

"I have a friend named Eryk who has come out with a album in Japan when he was 14 and it went platnum and he is releasing his first U.S album will be released in feb or april and he has met so many people including Janet, he has met her a few times. Anyway, he talked to Jimmy Jam a few weeks ago and Jimmy told him that the first single off Janets album will be released in January and the album will be released in March this is official so you guys dont have to keep on guessing when it will be. I hope I made everyones day, I know Eryk made my day when he told me, I did not even have to ask him we were just on the topic of Jans new album. Eryk has a site too Eryk-club.com. Bye you guys."

I'm not sure what to think of this but I would love for it to be true.

    - As you all probably already know, Janet is up for two MTV Europe Music Awards:
Best Female Artist and Best R&B Act. The awards take place on November 16th but you can vote here on who you think should take the awards.

    - As was previously stated on the opening page, Doesn't Really Matter has officially gone GOLD in the US, selling over 500,000 copies. I believe this is Janet's 21st gold single.

    - Janet will be featured on the next edition of the emmensely popular Now That's What I Call Music compilation albums. Volume 5 will be available on November 14 and will feature Doesn't Really Matter among other hits by artists such as Sisqo, 98 Degrees and Destiny's Child.

    - Janet is on the cover of the November issue of Ebony magazine. I can't seem to find the mag ANYWHERE but when I do, I'll gladly scan any and all pictures from it.
In the meantime, here is a pic of the cover, curtesy of Miss-Janet.com:

_____[..Papa] Roach paved the way for the unofficial Princess Of Pop, as Janet Jackson helped kick off the 2000 edition of the VMAs with a vigorously choreographed take on her latest Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis-produced chart-topper, "Doesn't Really Matter".
_____With her long hair obscuring her face for much of the song, Jackson was literally a woman in tae-bo motion, flanked by a troupe of dancers decked out in long black trench coats and matching sunglasses.
_____Jackson's VMA performance of "Doesn't Really Matter" marked her third in the last 10 years, having previously stalked the awards stage in 1990 with "Black Cat," followed three years later by "That's The Way Love Goes"/"If" at the '93 show.

    - I'm sad to report that Janet wasn't able to hold onto the top spot on the Billboard charts, as Madonna reached number 1. Thankfully though, Janet came in at number 2 which shows me she's not leaving the top 10 anytime soon.

    - When I watched Good Day NY this morning, one of their guests for the day was some guy who works in productions at MTV. He was talking about the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards (which air tonight at 8pm) and he mentioned Janet's rehearsal yesterday. He sounded kind of sneer about it because he said something to the effect of "Then it was Janet's turn to rehearse, and of course everyone had to leave the building." I'm personally glad she has that kind of power. Janet is obviously a shy person so she should be able to rehearse in comfort. After all, she will be the queen of all female artists tonight and they should be kissing her feet, thanking her for taking the time to grace their stage. Ok, I'm getting agitated so I'll just go back to reporting news.

    - As everyone must know by now, tonight are the MTV Video Music Awards, airing live from Radio City Music Hall at 8pm tonight. However, you might want to catch the pre-show at 6:30pm, which is when they usually speak to the stars as they make their way down the red carpet. More than likely we'll be able to see Janet and I can't wait to behold whatever great "look" she has going on tonight. And don't forget, even though she isn't up for any awards (DRM didn't meet the deadline), she will be performing so be sure to watch!!
