Protecting Otters in York Steering Group Meeting

1) Current progress of the greenprints application

Liam and Alison made a first draft that has been sent around to Caroline & BTCV staff for corrections and improvements. Caroline and Ruth have already sent back corrections. One problem that has risen is that VoYEG is not VAT registered, meaning that they have to pay VAT. All of the quotes however were made excluding VAT, meaning that this puts us over budget, Liam has queried Caroline over this and is waiting for a response.

2) Open day at New Earswick Nature Reserve

Jane and Rachel agreed to meet on the 12th at the BTCV office in order to put the materials together for the stall. Leaflets and materials are to be collected and forwarded.

3) Bike ride idea

Liam suggested that the steering group and others could go on a bike ride along the Ouse/Foss during the summer. The ride would be a social event and a chance to share wildlife ID knowledge.

4) Letters of Support

We now have Bob Missin’s letter of support.

The next meeting will be on the 9th of June at 7.00pm at the Swan.
