Robin's Story.

I am 44 years old, I have dyspraxia and I am Blind. I also suffer from Tourrettes Syndrome. I went to some private schools and special schools, then I went to a mainstream Secondary Modern school for boys. I was bullied mercilessly.

Although I still havedifficulties fastening zips and buttons and with handwriting, I can touch type play the piano and play pop tunes by ear. I am also very knowledgeable about 60's and 70's music.

Before I lost my sight and my Tourettes became severe I used to teach Barmitvah boys their piece and specialised in helping the boys who needed extra tuition. I can still sing in the synagogue and lead a service. I live in supported housing with three other people. I have many friends and lead a very hetic social life, I am on the commitee of Manchester People First which is a self advocacy group.
I enjoy making up puns and telling jokes. My latest joke is:
A jewish man went into a restraunt ,with his gentile friend. He was dying to try some pork so he ordered it from the menu. The pork arrived with an apple as a table decoration. The Rabbi walked in just as he was about to eat it. He said to the rabbi "how was I supposed to know the baked apple I had ordered would be served in a pigs mouth"

I am hoping to have an operation on my eyes to restore my sight in the New Year.
