Energetic, Perky Personality, Actress, Singer, Dancer with the Happy Smiling Face. These are just some of the accolades used to describe Betty Garrett. PLUS..'the only gal to throw Frank Sinatra over'... her shoulder that is! Which is what she did in "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" refusing a stuntman saying "Heck! I can do that, Watch me!" and she did!
Betty's Autobio "Betty Garrett and Other Songs" is a great read! Named after her one woman show which she debuted to Rave Reviews in the early 70s, still performing it through her 70s and of course still 'treads the boards' to this day also teaching musical comedy.
You can still see her on TV in "All in The Family" and "Laverne and Shirley" plus many Guest appearances on other shows. On "Grey's Anatomy" episode 1/29/'06.
This amazing and Versatile Lady was born in St. Joseph Mo. om May 23r 1919 and received her Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003.
She has two sons with late husband Actor Larry Parks. Garrett Parks, a Composer and Andrew Parks an Actor, and a beautiful grandaughter Madison.
