John Sellers, was born ca. 1795/6 NC; he died in Rapides Parish, LA between 1861 and 1864 and was buried in an unmarked grave near the site of the present day Laurel Hill Cemetery, Walnut Hill, Vernon, LA. He married Lucretia, last name unknown, prior to 1826, perhaps in Georgia as their first child was born there. Lucretia was born ca. 1794 NC; and was still living in 1880 Vernon Parish, LA, aged 86 years old. The date of her death is unknown; she was buried beside her husband.

William Smith in Thomasville, Thomas Co., GA on 15 Jun 1843 and nine children were born. William Smith was born 26 Sep 1817 Barnes, SC and died 21 Sep 1864 New Orleans, LA. Catharine is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Hicks, Vernon Parish, LA. William is buried in Chalmette National Monument Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. William's parents were living in Thomas County, GA when their son married Catharine.

2. Lucinda Sellers was born in Georgia and died 1909 in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. She married
(?) James (?) Bradley in 1843, and two children were born, only one surviving to adulthood. James Bradley was serving in the Confederate Army when he was reported to have been killed during the Civil War. When she died in 1909, only a small brick marked her resting place in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Hicks, LA.

3. Bryant Mentry Sellers was born in Georgia. He married
Ann Bradley ca. 1858 in Mississippi, and only two children are known. Ann Sellers was born ca. 1837 in Alabama, daughter of Milton Bradley and Martha (?) and she died before 1887 in Louisiana. Bryant Sellers is believed to have been a casualty of the Civil War, but his actual death and burial is unknown. Ann is buried in Provencal Cemetery, Natchitoches Parish, LA.

4. Amanda (Mandy) Sellers was born in Georgia and died of pneumonia 7 Mar 1912 , in Provencal, Louisiana. She married
James Wilson Treadway ca. 1858, in Mississippi and six children were born. James Treadway was born 5 Mar 1832 in Barnwell Co., SC and died 6 Oct 1895. Sometime after 1870, they moved to Louisiana, where they were divorced in Alexandria, LA on 12 Nov 1879. After the divorce Amanda moved to Vernon Parish Where she lived near her mother.  They are buried in Provencal Cemetery.

5. John M. Sellers was born in Georgia and died 8 Jun 1895 in Blount Co., Alabama. He married
Mary M. (?) and at least six children were born. John Sellers enlisted in the Confederate army on 29 Sep 1861 at camp Moore, Louisiana. He served as a Private, Corporal Company G, 16th Louisiana Infantry. On 1 Dec 1862 he was listed as wounded, and on 1 Jan 1864 he was in the hospital. After the war, John lived for a while in Rapides / Vernon Parish, he then moved to Alabama where he died.
