John Basse, son of Nathaniel Basse and Mary Jordan, was born 7 Sep 1616 in England and died before 19 Sep 1699 Norfolk County, VA. John settled in Upper New Norfolk Nanesmond County VA, in 1637 where he met and married Keziah Elizabeth Tucker 14 Aug 1638. Eight children were born to this union. Keziah was born ca. 1616-1620 in America, the daughter of Robin the Elder of the Nansemond Indian Tribe, and she died 4 Oct 1676 VA. the issue: 1. Nathaniel Bass - 29 May 1640 2. Keziah Bass - 4 Sep 1643 3. Elizabeth Bass - 12 Jul 1645 4. Jordan Bass - 27 Jun 1648 5. Samuel Bass - 23 Mar 1652 6. William Bass - 29 Mar 1654 7. Richard Bass - 2 Aug 1658 8. John Bass - b&d 14 Mar 1661 1. Nathaniel Bass was born in Virginia and died 30 Dec 1652 in Virginia at the age of 12. 4. Jordan Bass was born in Virginia and died 2 Nov 1651 in Virginia at the age of 3. 6. William Bass, married Catherine Elizabeth Lanyere and seven children were born. Catherine died 17 Feb 1691/2. William died 13 Aug 1741. the issue: 1. Edward Bass - 19 Oct 1672                   2. John Bass - 4 Dec 1673                         3. Keziah Bass - 30 Oct 1675 4. William Bass - 28 Oct 1676 5. Joseph Bass - 21 Dec 1679 6. Mary Bass - 15 Jun 1681 7. Thomas Bass - 13 Nov 1687 7. Richard Bass married first Jane Bryant 6 Nov 1680 and six children were born. Jane was born 17 Dec 1665 and died 14 Feb 1689/90. Richard married second Mary Burwell 25 Aug 1695 and seven children were born. Richard died 26 Dec 1722 Nanesmond on St. Stephens Day. the issue: 1.
