He married first, Hannah Whitney before 1770, and five children were born. He married second, Elizabeth (?), and four children were born. Elizabeth was born ca. 1755 in NC and was still living in 1810 Franklin County, Mississippi Territory. The burial for Jeremiah is unknown. the issue: 1. John Bass - 1770 2. Nancy Bass - 1776 3. John Bass, son of Jeremiah Bass and Hannah Whitney, was born 1770, Duplin County, NC, and died ca. 1843 St. Landry Parish LA. He married Delaney Taylor prior to 1800, probably in Adams County, Mississippi Territory. She was born in 1770-80 NC, the daughter of John Barney Taylor and Francis Smith and she died ca. 1843 St. Landry Parish LA. 3. Moses Bass, third child of Jeremiah Bass and Hannah Whitney, was born in 1778 Duplin County, NC, and died ca. 1845 in Bearhead Creek, Calcasieu Parish, LA. He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Terrell ca. 1805 (probably Amite County, Mississippi Territory), and fourteen children were born. Betsy was born 4 Mar 1788 in Cumberland County, NC, daughter of Micajah Terrell and Hannah Goodman and she died ca. 1855 Calcasieu Parish, La. 4. Robert Bass, son of Jeremiah Bass and Hannah Whitney,was born 1781, Duplin County, NC and died 1820 Amite County, MS, burial unknown. He married Martha (?) and eight children are known. Martha was born in 1785. On September 25, 1820, Amite County, MS, a will was probated for Robert Bass. the issue: 1. John - 1807 2. Sarah - 1809 3. Elizabeth - 1811 4. Sarah - 1812 5. Martha - 1813 6. Polly - 1815 7. Robert - 1817 8. Joseph - 1819 6. Elizabeth Bass, daughter of Jeremiah Bass and Elizabeth (?), was born ca. 1791. She married Miles Osborne 25 Dec. 1810. 7. Jeremiah Bass, son of Jeremiah Bass and Elizabeth (?), was born ca. 1793, Duplin County, NC, and died ca. 1857 Amite County, MS. He served in the War of 1812 from Amite County and on 15 Dec 1815 Amite County, MS he married Lucretia Bryant and at least three children were born. She was born in 1797, daughter of Amelia Hastings and died before 1830 Amite County, MS. the only known issue: 1. Jeremiah Jr. 9. Lavina Bass married Elias Taylor, son of Phillip Taylor, 10 Sep 1818, Amite County, MS. |
