The day Janelle graduated from high school was the day she was determined to get a job at a regional radio station. She was fortunate enough to land a job as a promotions assistant for two Chicagoland area radio stations, 102.3 WXLC (Hot AC) and News 1220 WKRS - both owned by Next Media Group. She worked there the whole summer and fell in love with radio.
She then headed south to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC) where she would major in Radio and Television. Her first year at SIUC she was the Personnel Director for their student-run radio station WIDB "The Revolution".
During the summer she would go back to her hometown and work for Next Media Group, her second summer there landed her a full-time position at a set of three different stations, 95 WIIL Rock, Extreme Country 104.7, and WLIP. For the past three summers Janelle has been a dedicated employee of Next Media Group.
With Janelle's preference for working in commercial radio as opposed to community or college radio Janelle landed a job as an on-air personality for Southern Illinois Number One Hit Music Station 101.5 CIL-FM - owned by Zimmer Radio Group.. She has now been with CIL-FM and Zimmer for over two years. Other stations owned by Zimmer include 103.5 The X, Z100, Magic 95.1, and AM WJPF.
Janelle loves music and is excited to be in radio!
