I am Janie. A wife, mother of eight, a registered nurse and a genealogical research buff. I grew up in Moberly, Missouri near where my ancestors came in the 1830's. My family owned part of this land until about two years ago when it was finally sold.
I have been doing genealogical research for over 35 years and have finally decided to put it out there for all to see. I have tried to document most of my research with sources or notes. I am more than willing to receive any new information on these families or any corrections one may find. This is by no means a complete or totally accurate research.
One of my main research goals over the last two years was (and continues to be) to search out the descendents of Thomas and Frances Tandy Burrus. Thomas was born about 1722 near Jamestown. He and Frances had eleven children that grew to maturity. These eleven children had 116 chidren that I have been able to identify so far. I have now over 600 ggrandchildren with over 3000 descendents for Thomas and Frances. Thomas lived all of his life in Virginia while Frances spent the last few years of her life in Kentucky, leaving a will in Christian County.
