Memories
Written September 2003.

When you first walked by my window,
I stared at you, eyes fixated on you.
I didn't know who you were,
But you reminded me of him.

Almost complete replicas,
A model come to haunt me.
Everything about you,
Seemed to bring a story.

As you walked by,
I kept staring at you.
Without knowing you,
Only my memories.

Once you turned around,
And looked me in the eye.
You had a wondering look,
About what was on my mind.

I left not wanting you to see,
The disturbance you'd created.
It wasn't your fault and,
You could never understand why.

Until I get over him,
I'll keep seeing him.
In every face that I see,
Memories will return.

So you'll walk by again,
And stare into my window.
Watch me turn away from you,
When you look at me.
