Mother Earth's Last Cry
Written April 2003.
She cries for you to stop
Your harsh, damaging ways
The stupid, foolish actions
For which youll one day pay.
The flowers slowly wilting
Their heads now bowed
Their petals floating to the ground
Settling in a row.
The forest fires raging
Killing all in sight
The forest burning bare
All though the night.
The saws buzzing loudly
As one by one they fall
All prey to our greed
That leaves none standing tall.
The Earth a barren desert
Hostile winds and blowing sand
Yet all heads are turned
Caring not for their land.
Stop, she pleads
In a strangled cry
Begging for attention
Her tears now dry.
