Hello Winter
Written August 2004.
Hello winter gloomy weather
Snow on ground and rain in hair
Snowflakes falling heavy clothing
Mounds of snow in front of door
Dead leaves falling trees barren
Birds fly south all hibernate
No life seen on snowy ground
Nor sound heard from snowy trees
Wind is howling rain not abating
Precursor to winter fall is dreary
Where has summer gone to now
Passed too quickly came too slowly
