Hello, my name is Janeane Amos. I am a 12 year old who attends Mt. Pleasant Middle School in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. I am the current Miss American Rose, Mt. Pleasant City Queen 2002 and am using this title to get my platform out to the public.

My program is called the T.A.P. The T.A.P. program will be used for developing Talent and Potential in today's youth.

The T stands for Talent, which we all have and need to learn to develop. The A stands for Academics and Achievements, which I believe are key ingredients to a successful life because by achieving your goals you will feel good about yourself. The P stands for Potential which everyone has and by using it to its fullest, you will go far in life. My philosophy includes these three plus a balance of fun for a happy, healthful lifestyle. By focusing on positive things you are far less likely to get into a bad situation especially if you feel good about yourself and your accomplishments.

I have three objectives or goals that I would like to see take place.

1) Help children recognize their special skills and abilities.
2) Help children gain self-confidence through goal setting.
3) Teaching children there are many areas where they can increase their talent and potential to succeed.

I would achieve this by offering activities such as role-playing activities with positive rewards and by helping develop the interests and aptitudes through testing.

In the future I would like to develop a program nationwide, in the schools, which will foster children's talent and potential.
