In Nashville, they're saying, "What Garth giveth, Garth taketh away!" Everyone
assumes that puppet master Garth Brooks was behind the departure of controversial
Capitol Nashville president Pat Quigley, just as he's held responsible for
installing him a few years back. That's what can happen when you sell 100
million records-absolute power. Quigley, a marketing man who came to Nashville
from New York, never made any bones about his distaste for the traditional
way of doing things in country music-much to the resentment of the community,
but apparently with Brooks' full support if not direction.
No doubt Brooks caught wind of the rank-and-file's displeasure and took
appropriate action, but of course, Quigley was Garth's guy to begin with,
and someone had to take the fall for the embarrassing failure of the inane
"In The Life Of Chris Gaines" project. At least former Arista/Nashville senior
VP/GM Mike Dungan, Quigley's replacement, is highly regarded on all sides,
having previously worked at Arista with Capitol Records Group president/CEO
Roy Lott.

The OPINIONS expressed on this Web site are
MINE!!!! They are not expressed out of any personal vendettas
I might have against Garth Brooks. I am not now, nor have I ever
been employed by Garth Brooks. I simply believe him to be a greedy, arrogant,
and untruthful being. Which is why I have this site. To express
the aforementioned beliefs. Everything mentioned on this site has been
stated by Garth at one time or the other, either in person or through
an interview. I was a Garth Fan Once-I would not have believed this stuff
if Garth had not qualified it with his own words!
