| A general rant about religion. |
| We don't particularly want to single out the Mormon religion to 'knock' as we believe that all religions are weird. Throughout our travels in the US we have found that religion plays a very big part in people's lives. These people's fanaticism has been overwhelming at times and surely it can't be a good thing that the Religious Right (which is mainly white) has so much political influence? |
| Salt Lake City is well worth a visit. Free tours of the State Capital Building and Temple Square are available and the whole area is excellent for winter sports and mountain biking. We cannot comment on the nightlife as we were nursing back to health a poorly dog. |
| Indie had a successful operation to remove a mammary cyst. Whilst she was recuperating we were unable to leave Salt Lake City so we spent 5 nights at the Flying J Travel Plaza on 2100 South. Not a very elegant place to stop but if you can stand the fumes and noise generated by the lorries as well as the rubbish and excrement left by the truckers, these Plazas are an excellent place to boondock. |
