| Florida 25th January to 10th March 2003 |
| Prior to landing in Florida, 1 house had been sold, 3 dogs had been prepared for international travel and pet passports organised, 2 jobs had been resigned from and a visit to the US Embassy in London to apply for visas had taken place. Orlando International Airport in Florida was the destination of choice as we both had family there, the climate was warm and the dogs only had to endure a 9 hour flight. We had been told by various people to expect a grilling from US Customs. They were serious but we both got through without any problems and they could not have been more helpful with the dogs. The dogs were extremely pleased to see us. It is always a risk taking pets on planes and it was a relief when we knew all 3 were safe. There was 1 frightening moment when Asia got her teeth caught in the cage she was travelling in but apart from that and scratches on hers and Jack's nose, all 3 were well. |
