These photos are quite precious..... they were taken during her hibernation  in Minnesota.  I eagerly looked forward each day to clicking onto her site and seeing if she had turned over, came out or just woke up....

Sadly she was killed by hunters soon after she emerged even though she was collared and the hunter knew of this.  Dr. Lynn Rogers hard work in making contact with her and gaining her trust was in vain I guess.  Hopefully other bears will learn to trust him again and we'll once again be priviledged to take a peak into the life and times of a "snoozing bear".   Bless you little Whiteheart and thank you for the joy you brought me each day.

The camera was placed inside a tubing which was placed into the den .... and photographs were live .... I saved these from the times I visited her site.  It was courtesy of the Discovery channel.
Thank you dear Whiteheart for the peek into your long sleepy winter.
As I walk around the woods of British Columbia .. covered in the winter snow I often wonder if close by there is a snoozing bear...  waiting for the Spring sunshine to stir him or her ...  and for her to introduce her new cubs to the world.

I pray that you stay safe from the unscupulous hunters ..
who obviously have no kindness in their soul.
You all will be in my hearts forever... I love you dearly.
