It's snowing, it's snowing
I yell like mad.
And run outside to see.
I stand up tall
amongst it all
For the flakes to fall on me.

I try to wear black
so the flakes will show
their gorgeous shapes so clear.
I'll tilt my head and show my face
And my skin just loves them near.

I open my mouth and they fall right in,
They land on my hair
and onto my chin.

The branches are covered
with a coat of white.
I love to see it fall
especially at night.

I have a new shovel
to clear the drive;
And push it off the deck.
It gets so high, way up here,
It's almost up to my neck.

I can't find the dish
belonging to the dog,
It's lost somewhere in the yard;
It's plastic, its white and
he tossed it around..
He's always such a card !!!

I lose him too
when he runs and jumps
into piles bigger than him;
He doesn't know it will cover him up,
But what can you expect
from an Aussie pup.

We have great fun when the winter comes
and we can play till our hearts content.
I say be careful, you'll disappear,
But he doesn't understand what I meant.

I stare and look at the rivers and lakes,
Frozen solid and seeming so grand.
Mile upon mile of covered trees,
There's whiteness from wherever you stand.

I think of the bears
snoozing away;
Tucked up and keeping warm.
And know they will bring their new babies out,
When there's no more winter's storm.

I love December in the snow
With big xmas trees wherever you go.
As I look through the flakes
and into the nights
I might see Santa on one of his flights.

I'm right up here
close to his home.
The North Pole's not far away.
As the 25th grows near and I think of him.
I might just see his sleigh.

Canadian winters are gorgeous.
My Christmas cards have come to life !!
