I have to learn to drive my car
I did in Australia,
Now I've come this far.

I can't sit home and dream of trips
Or places I'd like to see;
It's not going to be easy,
taking my test
I'll do my best,
But golly - it's going to be hard for ME.

There's different signs
along the road
Which I've never known before;
Beware of deer, moose and ice,
And trains go through at a mighty roar.

I'm not used to driving on icey roads
Nor looking out for bears;
The highways are longer
and the snow comes down stronger,
Gosh --  am I the only person who cares?

For such a long time
I'd driven in Oz,
It was so much easier there
This old driver  knew were she was  ;-)

The worst thing of all
for little old me,
As I take myself for a ride.
Is looking at the road, and the line down the middle,
And praying I'm on the right side.

I go to my car and plan to get in,
But the steering wheel's changed
It's not where its been.

In Australia it's different
I know what to do.
I'm taking my Canadian test soon,
I hope I pull through.
