All bears merit a Dignified OId Age.
Family-owned and worn bears are records of loving hearts.
They are as much a part of treasured family history as china, jewelry, or silver.

The teddy bear ... Little soft thing sent forth to make his simple way in a world so slow to hug.
~ Jeanne Wylie Torosian~

A teddy is a cuddle with four paws on the end.
~Gill Davies~

Just knowing that your teddy bear is home waiting at the day's end makes each day happier.
  ~ Ted Menten~

There is something remarkable about teddy bears. It has been my experience that I might have found myself grumpy - but then I simply chance to look at a bear and something happens.

My mood changes, the furrowed brow disappears, I lift my head, and lo and behold it has happened!  I find myself happy!  I also see this happen over and over as other people respond to all kinds of bears, tiny, big skinny, fat, silly, serious, primitive, sophisticated, you name it!  People get happy!

   ~ Nanci Van roozendaal~

A teddy is on your side.
Teddies never let you down.
Teddies do not need to be new or handsome - they just need to be there.
       ~Cheryl A Hingley~

Bears doze a little,
but never really sleep.
They take their job as protectors
very seriously
    ~ Mercia Tweedale~

It doesn't matter where I am:
If there are teddies nearby,
I know that I am safe
   ~Ted Menten~

An advantage of a teddy as a friend is that he will shoulder the blame for some misdemeanour committed by his owner.  "It wasn't me", you will hear the child shout, "it was Teddy."  And often as not this blatant lie wil be accompanied by a sharpish blow or a throw across the room.  Later, with luck, you will see the child apologizing to his friend and asking for forgiveness.
~Peter Bull, From "A Hug of Teddy Bears"~

Most toys you come across in jumble sales are worn-out playthings - but the bears are abandoned friends awaiting rescue.
  ~Peter Gray~

At sales every other toy looks simply worn, dilapidated, grubby. A bear looks lost and abandoned and desperately in need of a loving home.
  ~Helen Thomson~

You know his eyes are coloured glass.
Then why does he look so desperately disconsolate
when you go out and leave him behind?
      ~Pam Brown~

The teddy bear has come to stay,
so perfectly is his grizzly exterior
adapted to fitting into the many chubby arms
which are extended to him.
    ~ Caroline Tickner~

How could you get to sleep without Softest Bear to stroke
~ Pam Brown~

In a world where everyone seems to be larger and louder than yourself it is very comforting to find a sall quiet companion.
            ~Peter Gray~

Cuddly and warm, these calming creatures reassure me in the days of doubt when fears fly before reason and the world looms bleak instead of beautiful
     ~Author Unknown~

The teddy bear, all things to all ages, all sizes for all preferences, symbol that all is right with the world.
            ~Author Unknown~

A bear is as alive as you need him to be.
       ~Peter Gray~

Somehow teddies seem to smile, to look kind,
even to understand.
They have a very special look .....
         ~ Helen Thomson~

During the fifteen years or so in which I have been connected with the dear creatures I have met many fascinating, warm and toally sane people.  I can't remember meeting anyone interested in the phenomenon of the teddy who was bitter, unpleasant or downright beastly
~  Peter Bull ~

A washed bear is not a happy bear.
There are few sadder sights than a wet bear
hanging from the washing line by its ears.
     ~Pam Brown~

His fur is badly worn, there is a big bald spot on the back of his head, and his joints are very weak. Should I?  Turning to go, I see how disappointed the bear is.  "Please", he says, "I won't be any trouble."
     ~Jama Kim Rattigan~
