BOARD HOW-TO'S

Signature. You must be logged in. Then in the message posting window click on "formatted Text Signature". Here you can put an emoticon to accompany your signature also. (See emoticons below for instructions). Copy the following and put it in the text box that comes up when you click on formatted text signature.

<*font color="red" size="4" face="Comic Sans MS">Your Signature Here</*font>

change the "red" to whatever color you want your signature to be (must keep it in quotes("")). You can also change the 4, as it represents the size of the font...4 is pretty big. you can change the "comic sans ms" to whatever font you would like (again - must keep it in the quotes) where it says your signature here insert your name.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, REMOVE THE STARS (before both occurances of the word font). The stars are only there now so that you can see it. Had I taken them out you would see the actual signature. This is html code, all little < > / = are important!!! Always make sure the "include signature box" is checked when you post your message.

Emoticons Click on the emoticons link at the top of the page (best if you have another window open). Find the emoticon you like and click on it. At the top of the smilies page there is a box. When you click on the emoticon of your choice the code (look something like this [IMG] http:// (address here)[IMG])for that emoticon will appear in that box. Copy it and then come back to this window and paste it inside your message. REMOVE THE [IMG] FROM THE BEGINNING AND END OF THE ADDRESS or else you will see them next to your emoticon when you post it.

Profile Click on My Resources. It will say your login: (your name) to the right it will say EDIT. Click on Edit and it will take you to a new page. There are the following selections: profile, options, password, personal picture, IP blocks, notifications and delete. You can make changes to your N54 profile here. To upload a picture to accompany all your posts click on personal photo. Click on browse and locate the picture on your computer that you wish to upload. Click upload. When it is complete, it will show you your picture to the left. It automatically shrinks your picture to a 70x70 pixel size, but it is recommended that you do so first if you know how to decrease the upload time.

WHENEVER YOU WANT TO UPLOAD PICTURES WHETHER IT BE IN THE MESSAGE BODY OR IN YOUR PROFILE, THE NAME OF THE PICTURE MUST NOT CONTAIN ANY SPACES OR FUNNY CHARACTERS. IF YOU ARE UNSURE IF IT WILL WORK, RENAME THE PICTURE TO SOMETHING SIMPLE - ONE WORD. I.E. me.jpeg, To rename the picture right click on its name and select "rename".

Uploading Pictures in Message Body. You must be logged in. Click on Insert Object, then temporary files, then upload. Then you'll get a text box - click browse, locate the picture on your computer you wish to upload then click upload. When upload is complete it will show you the name of your picture in the left box. click on the file name and then in the right box it will show you the picture. Then click insert image. That will insert the link to the picture in your message. When you post your message it will become the picture. Hit preview before posting to make sure it is there, or to see what it looks like.

Picture Upload Files.. It has been asked if you can delete the photos you uploaded in the temporary files. I have not found a way, if anyone else has, please let me know. They automatically delete after so many days. But, what you can do..to give yourself more uploading space you can create a realm. To create a realm click on my resources, scroll down and click on create a realm. Follow the instructions. It is much like the temporary folder except its permanent and you CAN delete them. Its pretty self explanatory and much like uploading photos in to the temporary folder.

Hints & Tips.
When you are responding to a message, in the respond window, you can see the body of the message you are responding to by clicking on the little yellow box to the left of the message title.

To make the text of your message bigger, colored, or of a different font, follow the instructions above for the signature - just copy the html code and remove the stars and type your message where it says your signature here.  Remember to remove the stars!

Chat is also now enabled for html so you can also use the emoticons in the chat room.
