Introduction

This section of the site focuses on the different versions of the SVX that appeared in different markets around the world. For the moment, Australia, Japan and the USA will be the primary resources since I have the most information on them. However, as I gain more information on different markets and countries, I shall update this page.

As such, if anyone reading this is from Britain, Germany, France etc, and can tell me what colours, numbers and options the SVX came with in those countries, please email me. A lot of this information can be gained from the sales brochures that were released by Subaru in those countries and this information would allow us SVXers to gain a greater insight into the SVX.

According to Subaru Australia only250 SVX's were brought to Australia between March 1992 and 1997, when the last one was sold and importation was discontinued. The model update occured here in January 1994.

On an interesting note, only 3 SVX's were sold in 1997 and in 1996, the last full year of sales, a pitiful 14 were sold.

As for versions, Australia only got a single version of the SVX although we did get the option of yellow as a colour.

Full leather interior including seatings, shift lever and handbrake.

Version E - CXW
As above but with part-combination leather seating, no 4ws, no autolights and no CD changer. Note that a special factory order of the E-CXW came with ABS, Cruise Control, Sunroof and airbag.

            Drivers side SRS airbag
            Outer sliding type sunroof.

For most of us SVX fans, the story of the SVX in Japan is one of intense interest given the diversity of the range of models that were released there.

I have left pictures out of the tables below where I could not be sure as to the version - on the other hand, I have included some of the front pages of the S3 and S4 catalogues. I obtained these from the Silver Moon website in addition to the specification details. If anyone has these catalogues, I would be grateful for scans of them that I could post here on the website to add to the database.
