MATHEMATICAL MIRACLES IN THE QURAN



The Quran is characterized by a unique phenomenon never found in any human authored book. Every element of the Quran is mathematically composed - the suras, the verses, the words, the number of certain letters, the number of words from the same root, the number and variety of divine names, the unique spelling of certain words, the absence or deliberate alteration of certain letters within certain words, and many other elements of the Quran besides its content. There are two major facets of the Quran's mathematical system: (1) The mathematical literary composition, and (2) The mathematical structure involving the numbers of suras and verses. Because of this comprehensive mathematical coding, the slightest distortion of the Quran's text or physical arrangement is immediately exposed.

SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND IMPOSSIBLE TO IMITATE

For the first time in history we have a scripture with built-in proof of divine authorship - a superhuman mathematical composition.

Any reader of this book can easily verify the Quran's mathematical miracle. The word "God" (Allah) is written in bold capital letters throughout the text. The cumulative frequency of occurrence of the word "God" is noted at the bottom of each page in the left hand corner. The number in the right hand corner is the cumulative total of the numbers for verses containing the word "God." The last page of the text, Page 372, shows that the total occurrence of the word "God" is 2698, or 19x142. The total sum of verse numbers for all verses containing the word "God" is 118123, also a multiple of 19 (118123 = 19x6217).

Nineteen is the common denominator throughout the Quran's mathematical system.

This phenomenon alone suffices as incontrovertible proof that the Quran is God's message to the world. No human being(s) could have kept track of 2698 occurrences of the word "God," and the numbers of verses where they occur. This is especially impossible in view of (1) the age of ignorance during which the Quran was revealed, and (2) the fact that the suras and verses were widely separated in time and place of revelation. The chronological order of revelation was vastly different from the final format (Appendix 23). However, the Quran's mathematical system is not limited to the word "God;" it is extremely vast, extremely intricate, and totally comprehensive.

THE SIMPLE FACTS

Like the Quran itself, the Quran's mathematical coding ranges from the very simple, to the very complex. The Simple Facts are those observations that can be ascertained without using any tools. The complex facts require the assistance of a calculator or a computer. The following facts do not require any tools to be verified, but please remember they all refer to the original Arabic text:

1. The first verse (1:1),known as "Basmalah," consists of 19 letters.
2.
The Quran consists of 114 suras, which is ..............19 x 6.
3.
The total number of verses in the Quran is 6346, or ....19 x 334. [6234 numbered verses & 112 un-numbered verses (Basmalahs) 6234+112 = 6346] Note that 6+3+4+6 =.......19.
4.
The Basmalah occurs 114 times, despite its conspicuous absence from Sura 9 (it occurs twice in Sura 27) & 114= 19x6.
5.
From the missing Basmalah of Sura 9 to the extra Basmalah of Sura 27, there are precisely ...............19 suras.

The Quran mentions 30 different numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 19, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 99, 100, 200, 300, 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000, 50,000, & 100,000. The sum of these numbers is 162146, which equals 19x8534.

20- The word God (ALLAH) occurs throughout the Quran in its 114 Suras
2698 times and 2698= 19X142.

21-The number of verses where the word God occurs add up to 118123
also a multiple of 19, = 19X6217

22-The Quran's dominant message is that there is only "ONE GOD"
The word 'One", in Arabic "Wahid" in reference to God occurs 19 times
throughout the Quran.

23-The word "Wahid" itself, (one) has a numerical value of 19.
W=6, A=1, H=8, D= 4. These are a well known values.

24-The word "Quran" occurs in the Quran 58 times, with one of them referring to
"another Quran" in 10:15, therefore, if excluded, the frequency of "this Quran" in
the Quran is 57, or 19X3

25- The first Pillar of Islam is stated in 3:18 as "La Elaaha Ella Hoo".(There is no
other God besides Him). This most important expression occurs in 19 suras.

What you just witnessed is a sampling of the facts comprising the mathematical miracle of the holy scripture of Islam, the Quran. Yet these facts are just the tip of the iceberg. Though such Quranic mathematical marvels have been discovered only within the last few years (thanks to modern computing power), the scripture has been around for over fourteen centuries with every verse still intact and unchanged to this day. This miracle is totally comprehensive and goes far beyond the simple facts outlined above.

You might imagine the extreme improbability that such numerical occurrences would occur by chance, especially since the number 19 is relatively large and also prime. As intricate as this phenomenon gets, it is also unfathomable that a human being would ever be able to crank out something like it. Actually, the overwhelming frequency of numerical based signs in critical areas of the Quran serves as a very convincing argument that the whole phenomenon is totally out of the realm of both coincidence and non-divine intervention. You may not agree, but please don't form an opinion yet because you have yet to see the bulk of the miracle...

Anyone's personal opinion on the validity of this miracle as a proof of the Quran's divine authenticity cannot itself be considered valid unless the person is fully aware of the whole story. So please do check it out and judge for yourself whether this can be the result of anything other than God's intervention. Also, note that everything you read about applies specifically to the original Arabic text, since that is the language of the Quran's revelation.

The Quran makes the assertion that the previous scriptures are valid. Specifically, it speaks of the Torah, Gospel, and Psalms as being God's words, and that we are to believe in them as such. The Quran too is a divine scripture that confirms the other books and supersedes them, since it came later. Also, the Quran does not suffer from contradictions or errors in the slightest sense, and will be safeguarded by God and His servants for all generations to come:

Absolutely, we have revealed the reminder, and absolutely, we will preserve it. [15:9]

Why do they not study the Quran carefully? If it were from other than God, they would have found in it numerous contradictions. [4:82]

Now to digress a bit. As is generally agreed upon by the Abrahamic religions, all true prophets are sent to mankind with convincing proofs from God in the form of one or more miracles. In Islam, all the prophets are accepted, respected, and believed, since they all preached the same message. However, they were human, implying that they were themselves created, and thus they are not elevated to anywhere near the status of God, and they are not worshiped in any way. We make no distinction between any of them because as far as we're concerned, they were all good people chosen by God to spread His common message to the people during their respective eras: that the purpose of life is to worship and obey God alone. Here are some Quranic verses regarding the miracles of some of God's prophets:

Prophet Moses had his miracles from God, among them this one:

Recall that Moses sought water for his people. We said, "Strike the rock with your staff." Whereupon, twelve springs gushed out therefrom... [2:60]

Prophet Jesus also came with many profound miracles from the Lord, among them this one:

He will speak to the people from the crib, as well as an adult; he will be one of the righteous. [3:46]

Prophet Muhammad, the latest prophet, was given the everlasting miracle of the Quran:

This is one of the great miracles. [74:35]



The Quran and Science: A few fast facts


Nobody has ever been able to successfully disprove any of the statements made in the Holy Quran, though many have tried. Here are just a few of the many references to modern science that are mentioned in the Quran. They offer further proof for the skeptics and a reassurance for the believers that the Quran, like the previous scriptures, must indeed be from none other than God himself, as relayed to an inspired human prophet Muhammad(saw) through the angel Gabriel(as).


Consider the following verses, which are in reference to someone who committed an evil act.

Indeed, unless he refrains, we will take him by the forelock (front of the head). A forelock that is disbelieving and sinful. [96:15 - 96:16]

One might wonder as to why the person's head, rather than the person, is described as being disbelieving and sinful. Specifically, why is the front of the head specified? Probable reason: Modern physiology tells us that the cerebrum in the front part of the brain is responsible for the planning, motivation, and initiation of behavior (whether good or evil natured). Considering this, it becomes evident why the front of the head is sinful.


What about clouds that produce rain?

Meteorologists will tell you that rain clouds form in the following manner:

  1. The wind pushes the clouds so that they can begin to converge.
  2. The clouds then join and form larger clouds.
  3. Updrafts cause these larger clouds to grow vertically, such that they appear stacked up.
  4. Drops of water start to accumulate in the newly formed upper parts of the clouds, and when they get heavy enough they fall to the earth as rain.
The Quran already summarized this process more than 14 centuries ago, with stunning accuracy, in an age of scientific ignorance:

Do you not realize that God drives the clouds, then gathers them together, then piles them on each other, then you see the rain coming out of them?... [24:43]


Astronomical statements abound.

It can hardly be argued that the idea of our sun having its own path of revolution was factually known by people at the time of the Quran's revelation (7th century A.D.). But amazingly enough, this appears in the Quran.

And He is the One who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in its own orbit. [21:33]


Origin of the universe and the composition of life disclosed in the Quran.

Advanced methods have recently enabled astronomers to determine that the universe probably started as a very small ball of mass. A violent explosion triggered the gradual and still ongoing expansion of this ball. So what was once together has now been separated.

A couple centuries ago, the microscope enabled us to discover that life cells are composed mainly of water.

God already told us these facts long before anyone else had a clue.

Do the unbelievers not realize that the heaven and the earth used to be one solid mass that we exploded into existence? And from water we made all living things. Would they believe? [21:30]
