Mattie's Memoirs

The Gettysbark Address
Ten Practices and 7 tournaments ago, our 4 dogs commited to the game but couldn't run worth beans.  Dedicated to the idea that all breeds are created equal, now we are engaged in a great flyball tournament testing our team.  We will meet other teams on the Flyball lane and it will be THEIR final resting place as we leave them in the dirt.

In a larger sense, we cannot dedicate this Flyball tournament to the canines running here or to the hollowed Flyball lanes,  But the brave dogs running here dedicate it far beyond our power to add or detract.  The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what these dogs did here.  It is for us, the people, rather, to be dedicated here to help and enjoy each other and each dog.  From these dogs, we take devotion, and a measure of that devotion is how hard they play the game.  Here we resolve, these dogs shall not play in vain-that these dogs shall have a new birth of flyball fun and that this game, for the dogs and for the people, shall not perish form the earth.

Mattie adapted this from the Gettysburg Address for the opening of a Flyball tourney.
Prayer of a JRT Owner
Dear God,

Give me the patience to live with this Jack Russell, the courage to try and train him and the wisdom to know he's smarter than I am.
                                                                                                         Amen
