LADAKH

Originally, Ladakh consisted of the sub-divisions of Rukshuk, Zanskar, Nubra, Leh, Dras and Kargil. Since Pakistan's invasion, the Baltistan and Gilgit areas of this Region are under its illegal occupation. Kargil district was later carved out of Leh,the hub for Ladakh and Kargil. The Region has POK and the famed Siachin Glacier to its north and China to its east. A portion of this Region, the Aksai Chin was illegally ceeded to China by Pakistan.

The Region has a large majority population of buddhists and hindus with shia muslims at Kargil.

The Region is pro-India and has a serious interest in the tri-furcation of J&K State because of the fact that a significant portion of the national development effort has been directed towards Kashmir at its cost.
