�� I can't remember when and why I wanted to be a dancer.Dance is life for me. My parents took all possible trouble to find me a right Guru. In 1985, my prayers were finally answered, when Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam accepted me as his student and initiated into kuchipudi at Kuchipudi Art Academy,Chennai.
�� In 1987, I moved to Kuchipudi Kalaksherta, Visakhapatnam,a branch of the Art Academy..My debut performance was in the same year for the formal inauguration of Kalakshetra.Through Kalakshetra, I performed widely througout India.
�� Later, after getting married and moving to Singapore, I performed at various occasions in Singapore. I also took up classes at Nrithyalaya Aesthetic Society.I was invited by the Ministry of Education, Singapore to teach Indian dance in schools,so that children could understand Indian culture and art.
�� I have achieved all this with the support of my parents, husband and my kids, Ameya and Sushena.Added to all this, the support and words of encouragement instilled by my teacher,Sri Hari Rama Murthy, Principal, Kuchipudi kalakshetra I now aim for greaterheights of perfection and excellence in my life long Passion-Dance.
�� I started this website after moving to Edwardsville, Illinois as suggested by Sri Hari so that the students of Kuchipudi can find the slokas with meanings and the basics of Kuchipudi on the web.
