Welcome back
for 1998. I hope you all had a restful break over
Christmas.Congratulations
to everyone who attended the last grading for 1997 held
at Wahroonga Public School. Your individual performances
under a pressurised situation were the obvious result of
consistent training and good preparation.
Also pleasing was the
intermingling of people from different venues. A genuine
feeling of camaraderie was in evidence.
Every instructor in the
Academy has something unique to offer the student. I
therefore suggest that members occasionally add an extra
class to their weekly training schedule by attending
another instructor's class (refer timetable).
Included in this
Newsletter is a list of grading dates for 1998, and the
date for the first seminar with Mr Lee. A more
competitive calender outlining tournaments, Black Belt
classes, seminars, etc. \will be included in the next
newsletter.
Good Newsl
Heart 2000 (refer to timetable for address) is
now available to members of our Academy for training on a
casual basis. For $6 members/$10 non-members you can
supplement your regular Taekwondo classes by practising
on the new training equipment, which includes 8ft and 3ft
kick bags, focus; mitts, kick shields and soon to come, a
deluxe stretch machine.
Seminar
A three hour·seminar will be conducted by Mr Lee
on Saturday 28 February. Topics covered will include
patterns and sword. Speak to your instructor for details.
Insurances
Members wishing to take out an accident cover can
now do so for $15 adults and $10 children, If interested,
please contact your instructor.
New T-Shirts
New Taekwondo T-shirts are now available: in
sizes from XS to XXI. 'These T-shirts have a full colour
print of the new logo front and back. Cost is $26.

Academy patches will be available to purchase
mid-February at cost of $·10

Dress Code
Members are
reminded to be properly attired in appropriate Academy
clothing during training. It is good to see that the
majority of members now have shin and instep guards.
