Title: Standing Still
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 1
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I
did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Jami, for she is me.
Tasha owns herself. Wanna try and take us, come on...give it a try! The song
belongs to Jewel. And the address to the stories is at the bottom of this email.
And I use the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And
don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of
chips from 2 years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad
either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know
yet *L*.
Summary: Okay, here's a breakdown of the last stories. Jami and jeff were
together. Tasha and Adam were together. Jami fell in love with Adam and Jeff
fell in love with Tasha. Tasha was in love with Jeff and Adam was in love with
Jami. So Jami and Jeff split up and so did Tasha and Adam. This is what comes
next.
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been
suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

Jami stood outside of the hotel, the darkness shielding her from anyone's sight
inside. But now she was frantic. She was staying in the hotel, about to go
inside and get her room when she had seen Jeff. Jami immediently knew he was
waiting for Tasha, and she didn't want to see that look in his eyes when she
walked in. So, she had stayed outside. When Tasha had come by, Jami and quickly
slipped into the alley beside the hotel. After she had passed she had looked
inside and saw the exchange between them.
While she was distracted with them, she hadn't noticed Adam coming up slowly
from the other direction. By the time she had looked up, she knew he had seen
her so she couldn't run like an abandoned animal. And Jeff and Tasha were still
in the lobby, looking awfully close. Jami looked around frantically but she had
no where to go.

Cutting through the darkest night are my two headlights
Trying to keep it clear, but I'm losing it here
To the twilight
There's a dead end to my left
There's a burning bush to my right
You aren't in sight
you aren't in sight

Jami stood still on one side of the hotel doors, out of sight from anyone in the
hotel. Adam came to a stop on the other side of the door, watching her. Neither
of them moved.
Jami struggled to remain calm. Part of her wanted to race into Adam's arms. Have
them hold her. Have him love her. But part of her wanted to run down the alley,
clamour up the fire escape, onto the roof, across to another roof and into the
land shadowed by death.
Jami could tell that he was aching to make a move on her. And that scared her.
She did love him, but she wasn't ready...was she?

Do you want me
Like I want you?
Or am I standing still
Beneath the darkened sky
Or am I standing still
With the scenery flying by
Or am I standing still
Out of the corner of my eye
Was that you
Passing me by

Adam watched as Jami's breath quickened and she struggled to remain calm. He
felt badly at how thrilled he was that he had this effect on her. Usually Jami
was so calm and unfazed by the world around her. But now she was frantic.
Her face was pale under the moonlight. Her body almost melted into the
background. Jami was wearing a pair of baggy black jeans and a babydoll black
tee-shirt. Adam could see the glint of sunglasses being used as a headband on
her head, holding back her brown hair. Her arms were pale in the moonlight and
had moved so her hands were at her throat.
He wandered if she needed him as much as he needed her.

Mother's on the stoop
Boys in souped up coupes
On this hot summer night
Between fight and flight
Is the blind man's sigh
And a choice that's right
I roll the window down
Feel like I'm
I'm gonna drown
In this strange town
Feel broken down
I feel broken down
Do you need me
Like I need you.

Jami felt everything spinning around her way to fast. Everything was a blur.
Everything but Adam's eyes focused on her. Her hand was at her throat, as if
urging her breathing to return to her control.
She knew that if she went with Adam that night she would do something she would
regret. She would have to creep out of his room in the early morning and then
call him later that day, to be condemned.

A sweet sorrow
The call tomorrow
A sweet sorrow
The call tomorrow
Do you love me
Like I love you?
Or am I standing still
Beneath the darkened sky
Or am I standing still
With the scenery flying by
Or am I standing still
out of the corner
of my eye
Was that you
Passing me by?

Adam stepped forward to Jami. Out of the corner of his eye he saw something move
in the hotel lobby. When he glanced over he saw Tasha and Jeff walking into the
elevators, their hands interlaced.
Without thinking he rushed into the lobby as the doors closed. He slammed his
hands against the doors, frustrated that he had no idea what he was doing there.
Adam knew he wasn't going to stop them, he didn't even want to.
His face paled as he realized that Jami was outside. He rushed back out into the
gloomy darkness, but she was nowhere within his sight.

Are you passing me by?
Passing me by
Do you want me?
Passing me by
Do you need me?
Like I need you too
And do you want me
Like I want you?
Passing me by
Are you passing me by
Or am I standing still.
