Jami leaned back against the headboard of the hotel bed, sighing in frustration. It wasn't suppose to hurt like this. This wasn't fair. It wasn't suppose to hurt like this. Everything was going wrong. This was suppose to be easy. They hurt you, you hurt them. But it wasn't like that. It was painful. Almost to painful.

It was ironic, this entire thing. It had started out with her being in love. She had fallen in love with Jeff. And Tasha had fallen in love with Adam Copeland, a.k.a. Edge. Things had been simple...until one simple emotion got all twisted up.

An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
Isn't it ironic... don't you think
Chorus:
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures

Somehow, in the course of tme, Jami had fallen in love with Adam. And Tasha had fallen in love with Jeff. Things may have simply remained that way. A distant love, not being acted on. Except for the fact that Jeff had fallen in love with Tasha, and Adam with Jami. And that's where nonsense started making sense, while everything else went crazy.

It all seemed like one of those cheesy movies you watch and laugh at. Nothing like that happens in real life. A four-some of friends that are coupled up, don't just suddenly fall in love with another person in the foursome. And if they do, only in the movies does that person feel the same way. So it seemed beyond doubtful that anything like that would happen. But it had. Somehow the movies had made it's way into their lives.

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well, isn't this nice." And Isn't this ironic ... don't you
think?

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures

Jami threw her head back and drank quickly from the bottle of Vodka in her hand, letting the liquid slide down her throat, trying to forget that she hated drinking. Right now, that was the only thing that would help numb her mind.

When Jeff had broken up with Jami, she had felt to stunned to move. She had realized in her heart that Jeff was in love with Tasha. She wasn't sure if that had really hurt as much as hearing him say it. Tasha and Adam had broken up almost simutaneously. Then had come the weird dawning of a new life. Tasha and Jeff as couple and Jami and Adam making headway towards coupledom.

Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think evertyhing's gone wrong and everything blows up
In your face
A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
and then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic... don't you think
A little too ironic.. and yeah I really do think...

Jami took another drink of the Vodka, letting it wash through her system like a grateful wave. She was still waiting for the relief to come. Waiting for that moment when she would forget, but she couldn't. Her mind wouldn't let the images leave, and her heart wouldn't let her stop feeling. Not yet.

In her mind she could hear Tasha knocking on her door. Could hear Tasha crying about what Adam and Jeff were doing, what she had overheard them talking about. That they wanted to see how many hoops Jami and Tasha would jump through. And how it had been so easy to simply 'switch' bed partners.

Jami stiffled a sob as she thought about all the heartbreaking emotion she had put into her life with Jeff and with Adam. And how they had simply turned their backs on her. Tasha had warned her that they had caught her listening, and that they knew she knew. And furthermore, they had threatened to make up some story to tell Jami, to turn her against Tasha.

And moments later the phone and rang, Jeff and Adam on the other line. And they had told her about Tasha telling them that she was only after them to get in the WWF, and that she had broke her and Jeff up just to ruin Jami's happy existance.

Part of her wanted to believe the guys. But then she looked at Tasha sobbing on the bed, and felt torn. So she had made up some excuse, took Tasha into the bathroom and had made up some stupid story. And now she was left here....crying into a bottle of Vodka.
