As soon as they made it backstage, Jami made a hasty retreat to the locker room. "So, she still isn't talking to you, 'ey man?" Matt asked. Jeff shook his head sadly. "Jeff, she's not exactly giving you the silent treatment ya know. It's more like...she doesn't know what to say or do. She'll come to you when she's ready." Lita told Jeff as the group walked down the hall. "Come on guys, let's go get out of here. I'll go convince Jami to grab a bite to eat with us." Lita said as she opened the door to the locker room.

"Ugh, Lita, do I have to come along." Jami whined as LIta pulled her towards the diner door. "Yes, you do. You've hidden out long enough. Now it's time to face everyone." Lita reprimanded gently. Jami groaned as they entered the diner and headed for a back booth to join the others. Lita slid into a booth next to Matt, who was sitting next to Chris Jericho. Trish was across from Chris and Jeff sat next to her, leaving a space next to him for Jami. She sat down gingerly, looking down at the table shyly. The evening passed quickly as the group stuck to light topics. Jami visibly relaxed which caused the rest of the group to relax too. Jeff leaned back and slid his arm around jami's shoulders. Jami stiffened at first, but then relaxed. Jeff smiled at this tiny victory.

The diner was considerably empty with only two other tables occupied. the waitress came by to clear their plates and ask if they wanted any dessert. After a few moments of consultation they agree'd to split 3 pieces of cheesecake. Matt and Lita chose a piece of chocolate chip cheesecake, Chris and trish chose a piece of strawberry cheesecake and Jami and Jeff agree'd on a piece of chocolate cheesecake. The group quickly devoured the creamy dessert and decided to leave.

Sometime while they had been in the diner it had begun to rain. As the group stood under the diner's canopy, Jami ran out into the parking lot, throwing her arms open wide. The group watched in amusement as the rain throughly soaked her. She threw them all a grin before running up and grabbing Matt and Lita and dragging them out to join her in the rain. then matt grabbed Jericho and Lita grabbed Trish and dragged them, yelling, into the rain. Jami looked at a still dry Jeff with an evil glint in her eye. Her smile grew even wider as she advanced on a protesting Jeff. Jami grabbed his hand and pulled. Jeff stumbled out into the rain and nearly fell on Jami. Instead he wrapped his arms around her and lifted her up before placing her feet in a puddle. Jami shrieked and pulled Jeff in with her. The group played in the rain for a bit longer before they decided it was time to get to a hotel and dry off. They all piled into their cars, trying to get back to the hotel as fast as they could.

Thirty minutes later, Jami was still towel drying her hair in the hotel room when a knock came at the door. Jami answered it since Lita was still in the process of changing. Jami had already changed out of her wet clothes and into a pair of blue jeans and a short sleeved yellow shirt. She padded, barefoot, to the door and threw it open to find Jeff standing there with a sheepish grin on his face. Jami looked at him quizically, waiting for him to say something. "Uh, I came to ask you if you'd take a walk around the hotel with me." he asked her nervously. Jami hesitated before nodding. She threw her towel in the bathroom, yelling at Lita what she was doing, before closing the door behind her. She padded barefoot down the hallway next to Jeff, both trying to figure out something to say.

Finally Jeff broke the silence, "Jami, I want you to know that I'm very sorry about what happened Tuesday night." Jami kept walking, "I know, and I've forgiven you, really." she told him. "but you haven't forgotten." he stated. Jami stared into space before answering Jeff. "It's not you, it's me. I know you think that's just a line, but it's not....I just refuse to hurt you." she confessed. "Jami, you aren't going to hurt me by letting yourself love me, or by letting me love you. The only way you'll hurt me is if you refuse your feelings." he said, stopping and grabbing her shoulders. "Jeff, I can't promise you forever...I can't even promise you a maybe on tomorrow. you need somone who can. You deserve better than me." Jami struggled to keep tears from falling from her eyes. "Jami, I deserve you because I want to be with you. I know your scared, and it's okay to be scared. But please, trust me. I want to be with you and only you. Please, just give me a chance." he pleaded with her.

Jami looked into his eyes and he saw her gaze soften. "Jeff, I'm going to be perfectly honest with you. I really care for you, more than I could ever believe...and I am really scared. But I want to give you a chance. Actually, I want to give myself a chance. But...we have to move slowly." Jami told him. Jeff wanted to jump up and down with elation. Instead he stepped closer and put his arms around Jami. She looked up at him and he bent his head so their lips met. They stayed locked in their embrace for what seemed like an eternity. And they never wanted it to end.
